Submitted work MUST be from students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Columbus State Community College.  No outside submissions will be accepted.


Sort stories, essays, reviews, and short plays should be typed in standard typeface (such as Times or Arial) and doubled spaced on a 8 X 11 paper. These works should NOT exceed 3,000 words. Pages should be numbered and the entire work stapled firmly together. Poems should be typed in a standard type face and single spaced, with no more than one poem than one poem per page. No submitted manuscripts will be returned. If you would like notification of acceptance or rejection of your submission(s) please provide a clear e-mail address.


Visual artwork includes original photographs, pen and ink drawings, sketches, blueprints, etc. Both color and black and white submissions will be considered. Spring Street prints few color photos; in the past, some color submissions have been published in black and white (if the artistic quality is not comprised). If work of art is larger than 11" X 17", please submit a photograph or slide of the piece. DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR ONLY COPY OF YOUR ORIGINAL DRAWING!!! No art will be returned by mail; you may pick up your work by contacting Steve Abbott at (614) 287-5096.

***Important reminders:

All submissions must be stapled or paper clipped to a complete Spring Street submission form, available at each of the drop box sites, or on the this site. Articles submitted without a complete form will not be considered for publication. NO literature or art will be returned unless you make prior arrangements with Steve Abbott. Be sure to have your own copy of your work before submitting.


Copyright for works published in Spring Street is retained by individual writers and artist.

Please note:

1. Carefully proofread your submission(s).

2. Spring Street reserves the right to make minor editorial changes in submitted work. This will be done, to the greatest extent possible, through consultation with the author or artist.

3. Your signature above is considered verification that the art or literature submitted by you is created solely by you and grants spring street the right to publish the submitted work.

4. Submissions received without the required information form will not be considered for publication.

5. Submissions are limited to a maximum of ten individual manuscripts (poems, prose pieces, photos, etc.) and/or artworks per year.

6. Acknowledgment of acceptance or rejection will be sent electronically at Spring Street’s earliest convenience. Please do not e-mail the publication with any inquiries of the status of your work.

7. Each individual submission must be attached to its own form.
